QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) trains housing providers and community members on the warning signs and risk factors of suicide, how to have a conversation with someone who may be suicidal, how to persuade a suicidal person to not end their life, and how to appropriately refer a suicidal person to behavioral healthcare professionals. QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer: the 3 simple moves anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. Just as people training in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help.
